I'm having all these late fawns and I pulled 3 that were born last night.

I just went out to do the first feeding and *** them. I was done feeding and was stimulating the one.....it hated it.....ran from me, turned around and mock charged me TWICE!!!! This is the tiniest one of all of them...maybe 4 lbs.

Just instinct? I thought within the first few days all they do is try and get away and lay still......what is up with this one?

I had a two day old Scimitar Horned Oryx blocked in and he charged and gored my shin with his 1/2 inch buttons!!!

named him Omar the cat killer, my house cats hated him.....with reason.:D

never had a fawn charge me, big bucks, now thats a different story. Better watch that one when it's older:eek::eek::D

I know, right?! Not happy to be bottle raising a buck...against my better judgement but the board wanted it. I watched my previous boss get mauled by his 450 lb bottle raised male caribou in full rut. The only way to get him off my boss was for me to jump on a 4 wheeler....start gunning the gas.....the noise made him turn and come for me.....I was in 3rd gear when he was ramming me from behind.....my boss was able to climb the fence and wait. The caribou turned back to be with his female. I went around to the front to distract him while my boss QUIETLY climbed down and got back to the barn.....his jeans were all sliced up, he had decent gashes in his thighs, he lost his shoes, glasses....we were laughing about it afterwards because it was SO INTENSE!!! Had I not of been there, he would've died. My boss didn't want to call the police out because they were trying to breed the caribou to bring in some extra funds.

He didn't take the attack personally...they know they did a bad by bottle raising him. For weeks afterward, he'd charge the fence full force when we drove by to feed the other exotics...my heart would race everytime just waiting for him to break through. We darted him and put up block out material until his rut was over. CRAZY!!!

I've been told that whitetail won't full on charge a fence like caribou but I do know they are just as dangerous. If I don't pull the buck, he'll die. I know it's a lose lose. ugh. I was thinking about naming him Tatonka after the Dances with Wolves movie:)

good name for him....

All bottle feds aren't dangerous, a lot are though. I have a free range five year old bottle fed that has never)SO FAR) shown any aggression towards me or anyone else. I hand feed him when he comes up to the house. I also watch my butt when around him, I just look stupid.:D
