I came across one of my fawns this morning and she isn't doing well. The blow flies were starting to land on her but she doesn't have any eggs yet. She did get up, but is very wobbly (shouldn't be, she's a few days old) and is extremely weak. My first reaction is that she may not be getting fed by her mother so I fed her with a bottle. She seemed interested but was only strong enought to suck down 1 1/2 oz. I followed up with a shot of draxin. Does anyone have any suggestions? 8:52 a.m. central time.

I was told when they get wobbly like that they are de-hydrated. I would keep trying to get fluids down her. If you can, get some electrolytes to mix with the milk. I am no expert, but that is what we did and it saved a couple of our fawns.

I don't think thiamine is a good suggestion. I know a guy that was told to give his fawn thiamine and it killed it. the next time he was also suggested to give a fawn thiamine...it killed it. I beleive it has been found somewhere that thiamine is toxic to fawns.
