I have a fawn that was rejected by the mother. I gave her colostrum and probiotic paste before 24hrs old. But she soon after began with the scours and a whistle when breathing. I was told to treat this w 2cc Tylen 50 and 1cc the next day which I did. This fixed the breathing issue. Since then I have tried her on pumpkin and yogurt in her bottle, keeping her hydrated with resorb. She eats like a horse now, active like normal, but the scours continue. For the last three days I've had her on "scour ease" but its not helping either. It is medicated with neomycin sulfate and oxytetracycline. What would be my next best shot here? This is only my 3rd fawn so I am still learning. Thanks in advance

What are you feeding her, and how much are giving her?

I normally start mines at 2 oz per feeding three times a day and slowly go up from there each day.

When they get scours we gave immodium tablets. Start off with one a day and I wouldn't make the go to the bathroom every time you feed. I would do every other until the stool softens off

Does she have access to fresh dirt?

What color is the diarrhea?

Try giving her just warm water every other feeding for 24hours. I would also give her another 2cc of c&d antitoxin.

Go Whitetails Sales and Service and buy "All Natural Correction".  It will most likely fix it quickly, then follow the directions.  All the above advice is good too.

Pumpkin in milk and may have to thicken it up pretty good and shock effects fawn gel, also may want to give antibiotic. Steve's fawn gel is the best thing since sliced bread!!!!!!!

We have bought calf mana and soften it up with warm water and use the softened calf mana and pumpkin in with red cap milk and fed that....seems to work well also.
