Federal CWD Program - where art thou?

Well, we've been told for years the Federal CWD rules were "close" to being signed for all states to have as a guideline so they're able to work together. Since I am not politically educated, could someone tell me who I can voice my concerns to, other than my local representatives? I mean, who are the people that actually make decisions on this document who will also receive polite urgencies in letter form? Is there a website we can view status?

I'm finally in a position where I can do some writing about this and want to let them know what's going on from MY point of view.

Any help would greatly be appreciated - address, email, names, phone numbers, anything.

Be patient Windy Ridge.I know we have been tols for 14 yrs now it was going to happen but this time it has traveled farther than it ever has.It is frustrating to say the least but it is out of the hands of the USDA and is in its final stages of disscusion.I personaly don't think it will be long. What you can do is attend the NADeFA fly in then you would be able to meet directly with your own Congressmen and Senators.I think the gov has somewhat had to prioritize the issues, and even though the CWD rule is extremely important to us It probabaly falls between the cracks when it comes to the general public.I have attended the fly-in several times so I can say that NADeFA is on top of the issue and if there was anything humanly possible to make it happen they will do what is necessary.Right now we must stay in a holding pattern.CWD is not as hot a topic as it was in the past, that is part of the priority problem. It is going to happen and soon.(Don't quote me on that)just kidding it is going to happen!

They are saying June of this year. We have been told for years that it was close. We feel this time it is. It never hurts to contact your congressman and voice your concerns. They are keeping the heat on the USDA and its always good to have constituents calling in to keep their eye on the ball.
