That's right on as Josh stated, with hay that's good. Mine have come down with colder weather and I feed wet wrap 2nd cutting. Boy do they like that and it cuts down on the pellets.
We are in northern Minnesota. In the winter the textured feed goes down to 1/2 or less. About 2 to 3 lb per day. It is important though to keep some good alfalfa hay always available.
