My doe is tame so I can pet her all day long and she'll hang out with me when I enter her pen.

That said, I need a recommendation as to what type of fly spray I can use to spray onto her so that these pests will leave my girl alone. Is there one that is not damaging to my doe's health or nervous system??

Please advise if possible. Thanks.

We use permethrin goat spray only we put a cotton glove on, wet it down with the spray and then give the bottle feds and the fawns a rub down. They get a kick out of it and you can get right up on their face ears without getting it in their eyes nose or mouth. It only last about 2 or 3 days and less if they get wet. I heard its made from a flower and is not harmful if they lick it. Rick

The best thing we have found for tame deer is Freedom Spot On for horses. You can get it at TSC. 3 or 4 drops along the spine are all you need and it lasts for several days. Rain can shorten it's effectiveness and it does not seem to keep away those biting flies that land on their snouts. But as far as regular flies, it is very effective.

Mitch P recommended Cylence to me and it works Great!!!!!!

There's no spraying or wiping her down with the spray anymore. She sees the bottle or cloth and won't let me near her. I ordered a bottle of Cylence yesterday. Should be here monday. I just noticed it said it can last up to 3 weeks on cattle and was wondering if that was accurate for deer too

if she wont let you wipe her down what makes you think she will let you squirt crap in her mouth? ( drench)

Mine bolts when she sees me with the "Off" mosquito spray, but stands perfectly still when I get the fly spray out... amazing. They smell it coming literally!

Yes fawn mommy it seems to last more than 3 weeks!!!! Good Luck
