I am looking for some input into foggers. Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions on manufactures and models they like/dislike? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Also thoughts/preferences on misting blowers vs. ulv foggers........pros and cons of each

Thanks

Misting systems can run while you sleep. I've been told that is the most important time to spray against that devil, "The Midge"

Thanks MRBUG, but I mean comparing one you would operate, not something installed on fence, barns, etc. but your thoughts are appreciated and understood.

Jens how is it going up there with the EHD........if I would get a dogger I would get that guardian one everyone is talking about.....I have a big fogged that goes on back of tractor......never used it....still brand new on pallet.......it fogs up to 150 ft........but my concern woul be spooking the deer my pens are not big enough for it......the guardian seems like it would be the way to go and everyone seems please with how it has worked for them.......just my thoughts........by the way the dogger I have above is for sale of anyone's interested.......it would be for big fields as it is a big fogger........

I bought an A1 mister, PTO driven and goes behind a tractor. If you buy a mister thats what I would buy. they seem to be built pretty good. Doesnt seem to scare the deer, they just walk to the other side of the fence. But with us farming and a dog kennel up the road... my deer are pretty use to noise. The mister is pretty quiet though. tractor is much louder. Ill end with this.. whatever you get... youll probably like it, and its better than nothing.

dan I will get the Make and model for you and post it on here this evening......thanks for the interest.....I will have to see what they go for now and base my price on that.....I can promise you it will be more than a fair price as it is just taking up space right now when it could be being used.....I'm thinking I might have an A1 mister.....but I will confirm...

I've got a misting system around all my pens that I run 8 times a nite still having ehd so I ordered a gaurdian 55 fogger to add to my arsinal hopeing to get this years problem under control. So please don't think just a misting system will take care of the problems.

wow Cloudycr.....sorry to hear that......that is the big sales pitch by the misting companies is no EHD.........I guess nothing is fool proof when it comes to this disease!! Hope your guardian mister kills them all.....good luck!

Opt-to-mist.com is a motion activated misting system that puts the chemical on the deer not the fence row. Cost is 1000. on electric and 1200 on the battery operated unit with a solar panel. Use this unit around feeders, waters, gateways, etc.

If a misting system could FOG like a fogger it would kill them all. Does a mister use a water insecticide combo or just the oil based insecticide. You can hit some of them with a water/mix and kill some of them or hit all of them with a straight insecticide fog and kill 99.9% of em. I heard of one TX breeder and I'm sure alot of you did that lost over 100 deer and they had a misting system going. There is a huge difference in how each of them works, plane and simple. You also can go to the places where the midge lives(mud hole) and attack them there before they get into your pen.
