I have a two month old Whitetail deer that the owner decided he no longer wanted due to a bad sprained leg, and recovery from EHD. He is living in my house and starting to act like my dogs. He is still on the bottle 4x a day, eating banana's, blackberries, spinach, and blueberries and get's lots of fresh dirt, and 1 flintstone's vitamin a day. I carry him outside 2x a day ( which he hates) and he follows me and my dogs around.
I know I won't be able to keep him here due to all the hunters. I was hoping he would join the two wild doe's in my back pasture.
My question's are: Am I feeding him right?
If not what is the best things to feed him. He doesn't want carrots or apples.
Is there a safe place for him to go to when he is older?

He needs roughage such as hay or alfalfa. Leaves are good too. Also you should probably drop him down to three times a day on the bottle. Calf mana would be a good thing to get him started on aswell. You can get it at a farm store.

Thank You

I have him on Ultra24 right now should I slowly wean him onto the Calf Manna? He is living in the house right now. When is a good time to place him full time in the barn. I worry the wild dogs will get him without protection.
