High Temperatures

Using a sprinkler in the pen with them is ok? I was told they didnt need to get real wet in this heat for fear of pneumonia.
Crossing my fingers and praying for cooler temps......making sure the waterers are all working always........Keeping a real close eye on them all!! Given them lots of extra cold treats!!

Over here in Germany the deer farm beside my house has been floating frozen blocks of ice in the water troughs and freezing water in 2 gallon buckets with a piece of rope frozen in the blocks. When they remove the blocks from the bucket the hang the blocks next to the feeders and the deer lick them similar to a salt lick. I know these deer are not whitetails but if you were inclined to offer a cool treat I don't think they would pass it up as hot as it has been.

Sprinklers are on for a couple hours at a time, fresh bailed alfalfa, plenty of feed and fesh water!

I have a pen of yearling does that dig their water out and waller in the mud like a bunch of sows. It irritates me, but then they have found a way to stay cooler...
