There is a place in Louisiana that works mostly with zoos that will train you on how to use extenders to further dilute straws. I don't agree with doing it post thaw to a buck that is not your own. It is like stealing to me. There are plenty of people who do it. That's just how I personally feel about it.

Why would you feel that way after the person bought the straw he is extending? He is just getting the most out of his purchase. Kinda like lap ai where you breed 4 plus does compared to ******l where you might get 2 with the same straw used for both.

I don't know how much you know about this. There are a couple very talented people in this business at extending these straws.100+ doe can be bred from one thawed and diluted straw if that many doe could be lined up. A person that would seek to do this who paid for one straw in my mind is corrupt. I hate to even let the cat out of the bag to people who didn't know this could be done because now I am sure there is new group of low life's out there just chomping at the bit to try to pull off the next big dirty.

Mike, would you know who to contact in Louisiana or the name of the place? For peace of mind, the straws I'm wanting to "dilute" is personal straws from dead bucks, that's I'm trying to expand as far as I can. None are purchased. I understand what your saying, didn't want to stir up anything. Also when doing Lap AI we need more volume to work with to be able to split them more efficiently.

I think in a way that would be like flushing and embryo's! People are going to make a purchase and get the most out of their money. Kinda like drawing 2 bucks, mixing the 2 draws of semen together and sending the 1 mixed batch to get sexed and charged for 1 sexing. There is stealing and there is making smart business moves! I guess there could be a light grey area in there but I would guess that most will get the most from their purchase if possible.

just my opinion but when semen is bought are you buying a sperm cell or 50 million sperm cells if it is packsged at 50 million per straw and if a person can divide it up to bred as many does then that's what was sold. unless there is a contract attached to every straw sold only one fawn per straw
