Hello All, Our Hunting Preserve Bill HB1265 will be going on the floor today for second reading. This where the House members have the opportunity to offer amendments to what was passed and came out of the Natural Resource Committee. I will keep you updated. Please see the article below in the Indianapolis Newspaper. Please go to the comment section and leave your thoughts.

We just passed Second reading in the House with NO amendments added. The Bill will go before the House for full vote tomorrow.

We got our Bill passed in the House today with a 56/40 vote. Moving on to the Senate Natural Resource Committee.
 
Not good news today.

When Gov Daniels appointed the bill to a Senate committee he sent it to the Rules committee. (the way I understand it) Basically if that happened sounds like the bill will be dead in the water. We will know a little more tomorrow. Keep you posted. Those of you that have been writing letters if you want you can send one to the senators urging this bill on. It can't hurt at this point.
 
Maybe Rodney will chime in, all I know is we will know more tomorrow hopefully. Mitch Daniels has never been with us. Something bout he couldn't veto the bill so this is his out of it.

{HB 1265 is the legislation that many sportsmen have been supporting to legalize shooting preserves in Indiana. 1265 sailed thru the house with a vote of 56 to 40. When it was time to have a senate hearing Senator David Long took it upon himself to not give HB 1265 a hearing and went on to say in the Ft. Wayne Newspaper that he had talked to hundreds of "Real " hunters and none of them supported shooting preserves. I am asking all of you to garner all the sportsmen you can, use the legislative number below and call Senator Longs (his legislative number in Indy ) and tell his assistant that you hunt Rabbits, Squirrels, Deer, ****, or what ever you have hunted... Tell her that you are a "REAL" hunter and you support HB 1265.



This is urgent.

Good luck getting it thru. Hope it goes. I know when I lived there I thought it was dumb that I couldn't hunt deer with a rifle, only a bow, black powder or shotgun. IN and silly rules.
