I am scheduled to do testing tomorrow. I was wondering if anybody has any advice on darting with bam? Temps are supposed to be in the 20s. To cold?? Any advice would be appreciated.
Is it ok to dart deer in cold?

I just darted 2 of mine on fri in -13 out no prob except you have to be quick with it or the bam will freeze in the dart.

You do need to keep BAM warm for it to be effective from what I understand.

Darting in cold temps has several issues to consider. Freezing meds, to shock and pneumonia in the darted deer. Just because someone did something once doesn't make it proper or smart practice. It would take too long to try and type out in one post all the factors to consider. Long story short, if you can wait for temps closer or above 32 then wait. Otherwise learn how to best care for the animals during the process. It can be done safely, but you should know how.
