Antler Valley, I believe it's a small world cause the semen you inseminate all those sows with I believe comes from the Cargill Boar Stud (Tahona) I manage. Been with Cargill since 1986. Started as a management trainee in Plainview, Tx. then further processing, now a Boar Stud. Started raising these wonderful whitetails in '95 and been hooked ever since.

After College I worked for a commercial feed mill mainly making pelleted dairy feed for about 6 years. After that I went to work for United Kennel Club running their Beagle and Coonhound programs across the country. I got to travel all over the country and hunt rabbits and Raccoon. It was a great job. While working for UKC I started raising deer and then started Whitetail Exchange. Pretty soon the 40 hours a week working for UKC started getting in the way of the 70-80 hours of Whitetail Exchange so I made a change to 100% deer industry. Just raising deer (got my permit the other day to get my deer back) and working on Whitetail Exchange is all I do now.

That is besides attending a lot of my kids wrestling matches, baseball, basketball and football games.

I worked in the Heating, Plumbing, Electrical, Pump Repair, for 20+ years. Last fall started working maintainace for a small town 9 miles North of me.

Nice to hear what everyone is doing.

Hey, what a great thread. I have worked in Power Plant Operations for 33 years,(I'll keep the lights on for ya) and been married for 33 years. We started raising whitetails in 2005 and are addicted. Raising and hunting Whitetails are my passions, but my three grand children, family and God come first. Allen

Todd we all know we can do business with you! Thanks for all your hard work, you did put together a wonderful site.

Hi my name is Virgil and I am a logger. My family has a sawmill were we build pallets sell lumber and sell some custum hard wood flooring. Myself I try to stay out in the woods cutting trees and enjoying the nature. I know there are some on here who don't like loggers cutting all the trees but try wipeing with plastic. I also have a hobby raising deer until things get better then maybe some day might become a fulltime deer farmer.

I have been farming corn and soybeans since 1984, in 1995 I also started my own business in retail sales of agriculture products and am currently in sales with Channel Bio Corporation as an independent dealer.

Hi my name is clay Im an electrician right now I mostly do big. Lighting jobs I go all over and upgrade the lighting in big plants and hospitals and things I started deer farming 3 years ago and I love it I would love to do it full time but if nothing else it will teach my 5 kids some to be responsible

Thanks for keeping the thread rolling everyone. Hopefully more will join in.

You would be correct. I didn't realize there were any other swine/cervid operators out there! I'm managing Z-6, if that means anything to you...

Retired from Southwestern Bell (now AT&T) in 2002 after 32 years. Raise a few cattle and the wonderful Whitetail

Went to auction school in 1980 and have been invovled in the auction business in various ways over the past 30+ years. Presently work for the Lolli Bros. selling their exotic animal and taxidermy auction, Circle M selling their taxidermy and antler auction, and have worked a few of the whitetail deer auctions in the past year.

Spent 15+ years in the banking business loaning money to crop and livestock farmers in N.E. Mo.

Two years ago my wife and I purchased a Coca-Cola franchise and we distribute all Coca-Cola branded products in our area.

We also run our family farming operation which consist of crops and a cow-calf operation and of course our deer.

That's about it........Bill

Do any of you swine guys ever deal with Swine Vet Center in St. Peter, MN? They work with farms worldwide. I worked there for 5 years before starting my own business as a livestock broker/deer & elk farmer/other odd jobs. I shipped stuff as far as Austrailia for them! I mixed all of the drugs and handled the retail store that sold all of the drugs and supplies. I shipped and delivered everything as well.

Where I work we make diesel and freight train wheels. My wife and I also raise deer. Phillip I'm really surprised that Cargill lets you have any deer with all the biosecurity rules. I didn't know that. Thanks Eldon Bruns

I know what you mean on the biosecurity. We are pretty strict. The complex I manage is 25 miles away, I have a dedicated chore truck that doesn't come to work with me...obviously, we shower in/out at work and wear dedicated boots and clothes on the farm. A lot of smaller swine farmers have cattle, sheep, goats, turkeys/chickens, you name it. I have always been upfront at work about what is going on at home, and that probably has helped.

Phillip and Eldon, its probably a good thing they are so strict. Im sure they have a very good reason why they have you shower in/out of work.
