The West Virginia Deer Farmers Association would like to openly thank Scott, Richard, Todd and the rest of the staff from Whitetail Exchange. Our association contacted WE over the winter and asked them to donate the time and webspace for the WVDFA to hold a benefit auction on whitetailexchange.com. The staff opening embraced the idea and stated that they had done these in the past for other state association and would gladly do it for ALL states respective associations.
We were resonsible for creating our own ads and uploading the information, but Todd Morgan took the responsiblity to collect the money from the winning bidders and forwarded the proceeds to the WVDFA without removing any commissions. We were treated great and appreciate the opportunity given to us by Whitetail Exchange.
Why did we have our auction online instead of live at the benefit dinner? Several reasons went into our decision. #1 we were able to advertise our donations to SEVERAL THOUSAND prospective bidders instead of only a few hundred that actually attend the live event. This gives our association more publicity as well as the donated items and their respective farms more attention. #2 This added publicity gives the potential of raising more donations for our association because of the added potential bidders.
It was definitely a winning situation for everyone involved. It got our association more preceeds, the donors more publicity and whitetail exchange more viewers on their site.
