David, I read his letter. Seems to me he is just another producer tired of the feds. getting into his business. I have to agree with him when he talks about the government implementing programs on top of programs. The feds. don't understand why you shouldn't throw good money after bad, why, BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE TO FOOT THE BILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here in WI they will now charge us $150 per 3 years of TB and Brucellosis certification. That is $150 for TB and $150 for Bruc for a total of $300.

That goes on top of the $100 to have your deer farm registered. Oh BUT that $100 is being raised also. I believe it will be $350 per year for that.

But yet the dairy farms get crap loads of subsidies given to them every year. One farm in our area gets on average $750,000 per year in subsidies given to them. And what do they do with the money? Buy the land all around the area bidding on it so high that us TAX PAYERS can't afford to compete with them.

I know of one guy who decided that he would plant some corn this year to raise some extra cash this fall. He rented 100 acres from a guy. Then he found out that just because he was renting the land to plant corn the gov is giving him $2100. For free, just because he rented the land and will plant corn on it.

But if a guy wants to raise deer they fee and regulate you to death. Where is our subsidies??? They can keep their damn subsidies. Just stay the heck out of our way and let us make an honest dollar.

It seems that something has to break here soon. Every year no matter what you are into there are more and more regulations. I have always said that it isn't what you know, it's who you know. I am self-employed in the construction business and the 2 most important people that I can hire is a lawyer and an accountant!!! And that won't even get any work done. Maybe it's about time those that make all the rules and regulations take a couple of years off and we all get back to simpler times.

I know what you mean IKE. If they want the economy to improve then they should get out of the way and let people make some money.
