The Missouri Whitetail Deer Breeders and Hunting Ranch Association is
asking for your help! We are working hard to preserve our rights to
continue operating in the cervid business here in Missouri. In 2012 the
Missouri Department of Conservation Made a serious effort to effectively
end the cervid industry in our state by placing a moratorium on new permits
for breeding operations and hunting ranches. CWD was the issue and our
industry was getting, and continues to get the blame. Many people spent
countless hours defending our position and the MDC's proposed moratorium on
new permits was defeated. We won the battle but the war continues.
In our state, our industry has a solid relationship with the Missouri
Department of Agriculture. This spring legislation was introduced to move
the regulation of the cervid industry solely to the Department of
Agriculture. We are working hard to get this done.
We are having a premier fund raising auction on August 10th, 2013. We
already have some incredible donations from some great supporters of this
industry from many states. We believe that this fund raising event is
going to set the bar at an entirely new level and will be a great
springboard for the fall sale season. This auction will be extensively
advertised and broadcast live on DV Auction. We will have bidder and buyer
participation from across the United States.
