Missouri is back at it again wanting to pass into law that no more hunting preserves and deer farms will be issued permits. There is a comment section in the Missouri Department of Conservation web site mdc.mo.gov.

This would be a good time to start commenting. It is happening again and it is time to stand up and comment!

Everything these critics try to do is from what they learned in Montana as we were the first place to lose harvest facilities and new game farms. Big deal they grandfathered us in but that was to avoid a takings. Montana has gone from 165 breeder farms to less than 30 of which only 6 raise fawns or calves. They learned they could starve out the alternative farms without a takings by removing the new farms and the harvest facilities. If you lose the harvest facilities the business is lost and you will close down the deer and elk farms. Pretty simple and it will work because we as an industry have not learned to stand united against this crap. Our loss but their gain. Wake up game farmers were at war and soon it won't matter if you can raise the next 600 inch deer because we will have no use for them. Heck join me with my Montana hobby if you can't learn the critics agenda and stand united and help each other because in reality all I have in my State is a hobby.

It would be a great idea for everyone on here to go on there site and write a little something.

Thanks

Every deer farmer should join NaDEFA. We must have a national organization with enough money to fight. If you do not join, then do not complain when there is no one to fight. If we set on the side line, they will win. You can bet NaDEFA would fight if they had the funding.

Jack, We have nothing to worry ABOUT..........................MDC has assured us that IT WILL NOT affect our BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that's some FUNNY ****..................MDC is spreading right there!

EVERYONE BETTER WAKE UP!!!.............BIG BROTHERS COMING!!!!!!!!

Yes Wayne that is what they said in Montana but look at us now. I gross 10% of what I use to make when we had the harvest facility. These people are such frecken liars. I spent two years in negociated rule meeting with these jerks and two months after we were done they had the initiative out that put us out of business. What is really funny is the Montana supreem court also said in their decision taking away the harvest facilities and stopping new farms would not hurt the industry. I wish the hell I could smoke what these fools smoke might make my day a little happier.

Yes sending in comments should help but that will not stop the agenda in place to ellininate this industry nation wide as their minds are made up now. The only thing that will or might help is a law suit but remember that the law is not anyone's friend if your a game farmer. Sorry about the negative position I have but we lived thru this in 2000 and the hand writting is on the wall it's just the game farmers don't or won't take this serious. Boys if you like or love what we do spend the money now to fight this in court because when your deer money is gone we have less money to fight these guys. Thats the position I'm in here in Montana.

Jack, I agree 125% if folks put as much interest in keeping up with what was going on in their industry...............As the effort they put forth guessing the score of a buck.........We would have ALOT more folks worried about saving THEIR Industry!

I'm getting to the point that it seems selling drugs would draw less hate and disconsent from folks than raising whitetails and that's a DAMN shame!

Wayne, Funny you should say that about the drugs and pot because at one point my boys said dad we would rather you sold drugs because people would think you were a better person. They were kidding but it was kinda true because people look down on deer farmers till they see what we do.

They're starting the same stuff in Iowa that they did in Mo there is a meeting in Ottumwa toninght, a fact finding meeting on CWd. sound formiliar Wayne? Iowa DNR has already told a guy that wanted to put in a preserve to wait they didn't know if they were gonna issue any permits. Its like they states all have a procedure book laying out what to do next. If you don't think this could happen in your state your wrong they're pickin us off one by one

The DNR and critics of the industry have their agenda set. The loss of new harvest facilities and the loss of new game farms will kill two markets that keep this industry working. Without new harvest facilities we will not need very many animals for harvest. Without new game farms we will not have a breeder market. All this is the same move they made in Montana and they seen the results of that as we had 165 game farms. We now have 30 farms and only 6 farms raise fawns or calves. Both the elk and deer farmer had better band together and make a plan to fight this.

I put what they are doing on the elk web site. I hope these two groups band together with some lawers and get moving on this. I will call some of the elk big guys in charge so they know what is going on.

I'm told they are on it and will handle it. Sounds like it will be a court case. Elk breeders and a group from Texas and some of the big deer breeders.

This is not a rumor it is a fact, in less than 180 days the MDC rule goes into effect No More Breeders or Preserves in Mo.

Sounds like it is to late where has NaDEFA been all this time did they not know what was going on?????? for NaDEFA maybe some of them will post on here and let use know what is going on and how we can help.

headily.....NaDEFA knows exactly what is going on......they have funds that can only stretch so far......they can only win so many battles..........with the deer prices going down....and the feed costs going up.....I can assure you their donations have gone way...way...way...down....so without the funds to fight........there is NO fight! WE need to STEP it up......WE are NaDEFA......WE the deer farmers and preserves....if we don't fund them.......WE are toast........NaDEFA is US being UNITED.....without them....sorry folks....ITS ALL OVER......AS JACK HAS BEEN SAYING WE NEED TO GET OUR HEADS OUT OF OUR REARS AND FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT.....WHERE ARE THE BIG DOGS IN THIS......YES....OOOOH MYYY I SAID BIG DOGS......WE ALL NEED RO BAND TOGETHER AND BRING ON A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGIANST THE OVER REGULATIONS OF OUR INTUDSTRY......WHY CAN'T WE DO THIS......SOMEONE TELL ME!!!.???

After talking to my state guy there soon could be no big dog ,little dog or any dogs. Our state has had tougher regs than most states ever thought of and word has it there are many more to come.

I will say my deer buying will slow down even more than it has untill something gets figured out.

Well Mike I am sorry to hear this but it doesn't surprise me......Jack has been through this and has pretty much summed up what we need to do........that is Unite and Fight........but until that happens we are going to continue to be at their mercy and their regulations.......

Do you wonder why the wildlife services is so screwed up? Google: Jamie Rappaport Clark. She was director of the US Fish & Wildlife Service from 1997-2001. Do you know where she went from there? She is now President of "Defenders of Wildlife", as of 10-1-11. They are dedicated to " the protection of all native animals and plants in their natural communities". She is an animal rights manic. How many appointees did she put in Fish & Wildlife that are still there? We need to do something about the abusive powers that these agencies have seized. This is showing up in both Mo. and Iowa.

Last night in Iowa they had a meeting with legislatures and the public, and it went pretty well, I was told. Breeders showed up and put out the facts to knock down the lies and misinformation that the DNR and anti's where putting out there.

This is one thing we have to do as breeders, it's our responsibility to learn the true facts about CWD, and show up at these meetings, and present the truth. But you need the hard facts when you do this. That will put out a lot of the fires before they start. Most of the public will believe the DNR as fact if thats the only information they are getting, and we have caught the DNR telling lies. We did this in Minnesota when we had a case in the wild show up and confronted the DNR then, the papers haven't really done many articles at all about CWD since. I think they were not sure if the DNR was telling them the truth.

The biggest thing we need to do though is stay united, and speak with one voice.

Also when someone gets CWD as a breeder, offer them your support and show them your concern. I know that Tom and Rhonda Brakke, in Iowa, are having a tough time going through this. They are getting hits from all sides with no help from BAH. Don't let them feel like they are in this all alone. There email is in the NADEFA directory if you would like to let them know of your support, and your thoughts and prayers are with them. I don't want to put their email this public site. The BAH has given them really no options to market or slaughter their deer, or any way to make back some money on these animals. They only want to kill all the animals, and not compensate them for the loss.
