I am wondering what people think is the safest time to move does before the fawn this spring/summer? when is the latest you would ever move them?(weeks?)

thank you

is there any timeframe, say 7 or 8 weeks before expected birthing that you would not want to move a doe?

thanks

Our date always used was April 15th as the cutoff. After that no darting. If they are SUPER tame and can just walk right on a trailer then a couple weeks more is ok.

Just an opinion.

Had a doe get out years ago in mid May. Had to dart her to get her back in. The next day she had three buck fawns and they all lived. Amased me

This isn't what your asking about however as a side note to anyone who might run into this issue. Should you have to dart a doe who is having issues fawning or whatever reason and you pull her fawns from her those fawns will need/should be reversed also.

Roger is 100% correct. I had a doe last year that had her first fawn but couldn't have the second. Had to dart her to remove the second fawn. Turns out fawns #3 and 4 were in there also. They were pretty non-responsive until it hit me that they may need a little shot of reversal. In 10 minutes they were in good shape. Two Cardiac Kid sons that almost didn't make it because I was too dumb to figure it out.
