My wife and I have decided to attempt building a cabin on 21 acres that is about 1/4 mile from our AV farm. Last year we cut and drained a 40-year old pond with the intentions of having it rebuilt this year. Any ideas on how I can write off the reconstruction of this pond? I won't have any ag use for it, and it will be too deep in most places to be seined, so I would think that catfish or shrimp for profit would be out.
Also, I imagine a lot of you deer farmers are living in cabins or timber-framed houses. Any definite do's or don'ts? Anyone have any experience with any of the companies offering floor plans and construction?
