Ennis Texas
Hi everybody,
I am new to deer farming and have completed two pens on my ranch. I have purchased some deer that are going to have fawns by August and need to build my Fawn pens up by the barn. I have two barns on my place one of them is a new 30 by 45 that my alley way goes up to. This will end up being my working facility. The second barn off to the side of the new one is a 12 by 24 with loafing sheds off both sides. I want my fawn pen to be incorporated with this small shed. This way i can build fawning pens under the shed roof. Whatt size fawning pasture should i have? Should i split it and have two different pastures? One pasture for each loafing shed? My idea is to keep the fawns in small pens under the shed roof until they reach a certian age and then let them into the pastures and graze. From that point work them in to my larger pens. I would also like some ideas on the pens under the shed roof as well. I'm in Texas just south of Dallas in a small town called Ennis. This forum has helped my alot in the construction of my Deer Farm. Thanks for all your help.
