I have heard some great things about the Ohio auction. Watch it on the net if you cant make it! We will be announcing the purchase of a great new hope to be...super sire. May offer our 4 does in the auction to be live bred to him.....more to come.

i watched it on line several 200'' bucks went from 1400 being the lowest up to8000 for a 250'' and 11000 for a 300'' seemed like average price for 230'' was 4200 your more cleaner 200'' bucks brought a little more 4900 to 6000 there was one lot with a 220 140 170 only brought 1450x3 that guy was smart nosaled it your 150 brought average of 1000 180 average 2200 then you had what the hunters want 190 clean 6x6 no extras bring 5700 to me it seemed like a buyers market hopefully the nrxt 2 days has more to bring but who knows with the way the economy is and a market that seems to be flooded good be wrong

It seems to me that the prices arent to bad as long as you have good looking deer. If you have a junk mess 200 and a beautiful 180 I would think that the the 180 would deff sell better so if i was a perserve owner i would be willing to spend more on the 180 than the 200.

Did anybody notice what the highest priced bucks that sold were? Were they non-typical or typical?

The first one went for 11,000 and the second one went for 10,750.

Those don't look very typical to me :D

"Score still does matter"

Within a category or 2 a typical wider deer will more often than not bring more money than a non-typical. However a 300 inch deer will usually bring about twice as much (or more) than a 200 inch deer. No matter how they look.

That goes back to my question. Would you rather have a pen full of 200 or 300 inch shooters?

Sometime the "Breeder Market" goes off the map one way or another.

Hunters like all types of deer. Tall, wide, massive, typical, non-typical, 8 pointers, 10 pointers, 12 pointers, and yes 40 pointers.

Thats the real lure of the whitetail. They are like snowflakes with no two being exactly alike! :D

Lot 107-T is not too bad, but those other two are just ugly. I can't believe that big typical went for $8,000??!! Boy, you'da got some good money for that down here, I guarantee you.

Personally I will still will take the typical 200s...will always be easier to get rid of. Want my deer to look like deer....not freaks. To each his own. But, with deer you never know what you get and if we get a freak...I guess he will just be worth more money to some. You just never know...that's what is so fun about it!

The deal with the one group of bucks was if you bought all his bucks he would bring them to you.I think there were 5 bucks in that group over 200.

Just returned from the Ohio sale seemed like good turn out. Kevin worked very hard to help buyers understand the value of consignments. I purchased 5 lots thanks to the sellers.
