I just have to comment on a little trip I made today. I drove from Sulphur Springs, Tx. (N.E.) up tp Francis, Ok.(N. central). Tho' I've made this trip a few times before it is so beautiful and unique I will never get tired of it. Starting from the Southern area of the Choctaw Nation you will encounter miles and miles of rolling hills. It reminds me of the country & Western song of the late 40s that my Dad used to sing "Oklahoma Hills". I think Hank Thompson was the singer. I saw many dead deer alongside the Indian Nation Turnpike and also alongside the state highway going to Francis. All were does except one spike and a four point. These were big bodied deer compared to the native deer in most parts of Texas. Their coats looked chocolate brown compared to my reddish northerners and tan/grey of our native herd. Ones imagination can run wild while making this journey. Every foot of ground looks like it is deer territory and I'd bet most of it has had a moccacin slid upon it. Thank you, neighbor's, for just being who you are. What a beautiful state.
