Recently Ms. Tess Morse, Louisiana FFA President and Ponchatoula High School Chapter member, participated in the FFA prepared public speeking competition. This competition is held on the parish (county) level, then winners go onto the district level and if they win that, onto area competition then if she wins will go onto state competition in June of 2010. State winners will then become eligible to compete on the national level at the FFA national convention in Indianapolis IN in October of 2010. Tess won the parish competition so now it is onto the district event.
I have attached a copy of the speech Ms. Morse gave for her topic. I think all of you will agree with me that the FFA is part of our future in deer farming.
If you have an FFA chapter in one of your local schools, become involved and introduce these bright youg students and their advisors to our industry.
