Another deer farmer suggested we give 1cc of ivermec pour on to a 3 week old fawn. Now this fawn is completely lethargic, mostly sleeping but cannot stand or raise it's head on it's own. We realize there is alcohol in ivermec. Is there any way to reverse the effects, or any treatment that you guys know of for overdosing this fawn? We believe that the fawn is NOT dehydrated, for it has solid stool and is still drinking pedialite, water and formula. Any help would be appreciated, Thank you!!

If you gave it orally, then I would get some activated charcoal in the fawn. That will help absorb some of it and the fawn will pass it in its stool. I dont know how long it has been since you have given the ivermec and what the time frame is for the body to absorb but the charcoal cant hurt. After the charcoal I would wait a good 6 hrs and then give a probiotic along with a shot of B12. The probiotic will replace the good bacteria in the gut and the B12 will help with energy and appetite. Once this is done and if the fawn still is lethargic and wont eat I would give a shot of C&D Antitoxin as well.

the ivermec we used was a pour on.weput on skin inbetween shoulder blades.she has been unable to move now for 24 hours. but is drinking liquids and eating watermelon and grapes.we did give b12 . we found scab on leg that fell off and small ringworm looking legion on tip of nose.think she has something fungal related and maybe the ivermec od was just a coincidence.just gave her 1/4 cc la 200 to fight the fungal disease but don't want to shock her system either.
