I am posting this for a friend - he has a doe fawn that was just born & he believes she is blind. Her eyes are "mushy" & extremely small. Is there anything he can try as far as medicines to see if he can help her to see?

Try a large dose of Thiamine (B-1) 5cc sub Q daily for 3 days. The dosage wont hurt the deer as any excess will be shed in the urine.

this happens from time to time..... if the fawn is not extremely premature it is probably permanent...I have seen a fawn with no eyes .... not just un opened eye slits , no eye socket, eyes, optic nerve.....etc.

What color is the humor in the eyes? if they look like tele-illusion ( color change paint... purple/blue shimer) it is permanent
