i'm going to play stupid, so here it goes. does anyone know what probiotics are and what are they used for, and what are the names of some, and where do you get them.

I partnered up with a friend and we divided last years fawns based on equal genetics. Both ranches are only a few minutes apart and we use the same feed. The only difference is that I used shock effect probiotics. My yearlins are way ahead of my partners and my herd looks overall healthier than his. Probiotics definitively work very well and I will surely be using more shock effect in my pens. It pays itself easily.

I also used C&E wildlife products probiotics (formerly target probiotics) last year and this year. Last years fawns were the biggest and healthiest I had ever had on our farm. The yearlings this year are the best we ever had. This years fawns are doing well but not as well as last years. BUT, a lot of guys are having issues with sick fawns this year from the heat, humidity and dampness....I don't have those issues. In our area, the weather has caused a lot of issues for fawns and general deer health. I beleive that C&E probiotics has definitely been helpful to our deer herd.

The brand name is Fastrack made by Conklin (the leader in direct fed microbials) with years of research trials behind them (since 1987).
