I know, I think it is crazy but there are people feeding it in crazy percentages.  I limit mine to 10-12%.  What is your opinion on too much fat?  My understanding is 8% is going to lead to problems.

What kind of problems would high fat cause?

You can search and find a good bit of infomation that says too much fat can limit ruminants' ability to digest feed in the rumen.  As WRW said they can get the runs.  I got that number from one of the Wisconsin farmers that has been in this business forever a couple years ago when we were having a discussion about feed.

I feed purine elite 300. My deer were eating about 1.5 bags a day. Now that the clover is growing the food consumption is about 1/2 a bag a day. Is the clover or the purine elite better for horn growth?

Birthing tends to be more difficult when higher fat contents are feed for extended periods of time.

Deer chaser, it would depend on which has the higher protein content. Both should be petty good!

Thanks. They really like the clover!
