Can buck fawns be placed in the same pen as yearling bucks. Will the yearlings try to hurt the buck fawns

I assume you are talking about your plans for this fall. I don't see a problem, especially if you cut the horns off your yearlings, which I would recommend. Horns come off ALL my bucks every year, including the yearlings. My plan is to put my buck fawns in with a 3 yr old that I will have to hold over to next year due to antler injury.

Yes, I'm talking about this fall. I guess that would have been good information for me to add. We have been raising deer for two years now, still learning everday.

Thanks Mark

We have gotten into the habit of keeping our buck fawns alone until we pull our breeder bucks out of the breeding pens at the end of the year. We then put the breeder bucks in with the buck fawns and they get along very well. The "big boys" even play with the fawns and can be a riot to watch.
