Just was woundering if anyone else noticed that there is a bunch of animals on exchange that were just sold on the last couple of sales. How is this possible? Where they just false sales or is someone re-selling what they bought? I noticed because i was trying to buy one of the lots at the auction and now it is listed on the wednesday night no reserve????:confused:

I usually don't post on here but do enjoy reading and listening to others posts. In this case I will respond because this matter reflects on me. I SOLD on Saturday at the Midwest Select auction Black 15 the High Roller/Max doe Live Bred to Lucky Ranger and just want to make it very clear the doe did sell at the Midwest Select no games played. The buyer was a on line bidder whose name I will leave off this post. I was informed by a friend on Sunday morning that the doe was on the Exchange. I had absolutely no idea. I just want to make it very clear I did not buy this doe back nor did I play any auction games trying to make more money off this doe. The Midwest Select this year was a no sale auction however I rarely no sale any animals that I put in an auction. I knew this doe was worth more money then what she brought but I thought let her sell and maybe the buyer will look at what else I have for sale off of the farm. In the past this practice has led me to many more sales off the farm and has often led to great relationships in future dealings. Anyway I just wanted to clear that matter so everyone knows what had happened. Right or wrong of the buyer doing this is not for me to decide but this is what went on.

Thank you

Good post Rod. I was at the sale and can verify that what you sold was a strait up sale. I think Rod's reputation speaks for itself (in a good way of course), but I just wanted to backup what he had to say here.

Great seeing you at the sale Rod, and it's a testament to the type of person you are by letting people have a great deal.

I second what Mike is saying in reference with Rod. Great Guy always helpful when asked. As for relisting the deer online. No Games. They bought the deer sraight up I think they are entitled. I look at is as like buying an item at an estate auction and listing it on ebay. In this case I'm pretty sure it sold for less then it was bought at the auction. There is risk and this is a business. Just My Opinion BTW It was nice meeting you Mike. Hope the move...The New House...And The NEW Nieghbors work out for you!!

This is a very good post. I have had several conversations with Scott Follett about this subject. So everyone knows, Scott bought this doe from Rod at the Midwest select sale last week. Many of you know Scott and know that he buys a LOT of deer. I cannot remember a sale where he hasnt bought at least 2 deer or as many as 12. He is one of the biggest supporters of all auctions as a buyer. Some of them he keeps, and some of them he sells. Much like the rest of us. Some of them he buys because they are incredible deals and some because they are incredible deer. Much like the rest of us.

Most of us, if not all of us are in this business to buy at one one price and hopefully turn a profit to stay in business. Scott had 6 animals in last weeks Wednesday No Reserve Sale that he had bought at several different auctions this winter. There were way more than those that he bought, but he chose to resell 6 of them.

As I said, this animal was purchased by Scott from Rod at the Midwest Select Sale (for $1250) and was sold on Whitetail Exchange (for $2260) on Wednesday night. I really cant see where there is anything wrong with that?

Just wanted to back up what Rod said, he did in fact sell the deer. There were no games played and everything was legitimate.
