Many of you watched with a keen eye the progress of the deer farming bill in the last legislative sessions in the Mississippi Legislature. The bill to allow deerfarming in Mississippi passed the Senate committe but stalled in the House.

One of this meeting's primary focus is to raise funds for the reintroduction of the deer farming bill.

There are almost 200 enclosures in Mississippi that could benefit from this legislation.

We ask you for your support when contacted for auction donations to raise for this cause.

If the legislation passes as written, it will allow importation of whitetails in Mississippi and the opportunity to do business in Mississippi.

If you are not contacted please be pro active and contact either Scott Heinrich or Jerome Foti concerning donations .

Sorry, no semen will be accepted for auction.

If you would like to attend, we would love to have you.

Thank you in advance for your support

Jerome Foti, Chairman 337-322-2727

Scott and Jerome, we will be there and will donate to the cause. Opening states up for deer farming is one of the most important factors in keeping our farm businesses going and improving. I hope you have to increase the room block.

Great Steve! Donna says she will enjoy seeing y'all again. I feel it in my bones........2012 will be the year Mississippi legalizes deer farming!

OK guys, we are open for business.

All of you who would like to see the legislation to open deerfarming in Mississippi need to take this opportunity to be on the frontline of the support and donate to our fundraiser.

If I have not contacted you please feel free to call me at 337-322-2727..

Everyone would like to have new markets for their products and Mississippi would fit this description.

If we all work together we have a better chance of success!!!

If you choose to do nothing to support this effort ( waiting for someone else to "step up and donate" then please don't complain about having no place to sell your inventory.

Anxiously waitng for your call:

Sorry: no semen can be accepted.

We reserved our room yesterday and are looking forward to being there. Nothing is more important to our industry than helping to open states to deerfarming.

An update on the progress of the SGRA/Mississippi Whitetail Association meeting on August 27th:

We are glad to announce that Deerfarmer have currently donated a, pneudart gun, Iowas turkey hunt, fishing trip for 4 people, jewelry, taxidermy work....

We are really working hard on securing more donations for our auction to raise money to further the deer farming agenda in Mississippi.

If you can help us, we would be most grateful, as this agenda is beneficial to all deerfarmers nationwide.

If you have not been contacted yet, please feel free to contact me and offer a donation. I can be reached at 337-322-2727.

Sorry, no semen can be accepted.

The Beau Rivage Hotel has extended the Block Room Rate to Friday night August 26, 2011. There is a limited amount of rooms available at this discounted price. Please ask for the SGRA/Mississippi Deer Farmers Association meeting room block.

I currently have Deer Farmers from Ohio, Texas and Iowa attending the meeting and donating items for auction.

Don't be left out, what a great time to interface and exchange business cards with Mississippi Deer Farmers and Enclosure owners.

Call or email for information .

Scott or Jerrome,

I have had several people ask if booth space is available at this event and if so what is cost for booth.

thanks

Bill

Bill- there will be no booths at this meeting.

The focus of this meeting is to raise money for the legislatiive process to enable deer farming in Mississippi. We felt that it was tantamount that the members of the SGRA and the Mississippi Deer Farmers Association come together and network to further this vision. Booths could be a distraction and could be counterproductive to the networking.

We are taking donations from all deerfarmers from throughout the U.S, but are not taking donations of semen since there are some differing opinions about the importation of semen in Mississippi. As we all know, deer can not be imported into Mississippi and semen sometimes falls into a "gray area"!

It is important that deerfarmers realized that with the shrinking markets, declining stocker buck prices, increased feed costs that new markets like Mississippi would be a great thing for all deerfarmers.

Hopefully everyone will see this as a worthy cause and donate accordingly.

See you in Biloxi on August 27th.

Jerome

We are collecting a great selection of items and hunts to offer to the attendees. And we didn;t forget the ladies either, we have a one of a kind, beautiful Amethyst and Peridot necklace and a few other surprises for the gals. SGRA believes the fundraising event should be a social event appropriate for the entire family and those organizing the event are doing an excellent job. Thanks to all!

All the blocked ( discounted )rooms at the Beau Rivage Hotel have been booked for Friday and Saturday nite for the SGRA/ Mississippi Whitetail Association meeting on August 27th.

We have asked ( begged) the host hotel ( Beau Rivage) to open up more blocked ( discounted) rooms and they have agreed.

If you are planning to attend and be on the "ground floor" of deerfarming in Mississippi then you may want to call Beau Rivage today and book your room. They won't last long.

P.S. It is still early and we have over 30 enclosure owners already signed and with reservations!!!
