Hi, I hope someone can help advise what the problem is when a lump suddenly appeared (bigger than golf ball) on the neck just below the jaw. She is still eating ok, but then overnight from just noticing the lump, it seemed to have burst (as she had been trying to scratch with hind hoof). The open wound appears dry (from a distance) but I am worried that in the summer heat and blowfly aplenty, it may get magots and be infected.
What to do? She has been our pet for 14 yrs. Am very devastated!!
