The WDFO has had their lobbyist watching the situation since it all began. At this time the lobbyists are saying there is no indication at this time that deer farmers will be affected in any way be the new law. It is dangerous animals only that they are cracking down on. It should be a wakeup call to Ohio deer famers though, as if this bill goes through they could very well be after us next.
When this all started we were a little worried about being able to legally do the auction this week but after a few phone calls and a lot of research there seems to be no indication that whitetail deer are included anywhere in the exotic animal ban.

It is true though that you need to be watchful. It is their style to chip away wherever they can at our rights. You can bet the anti's jumped on this like a lion on its prey - every time they win another restriction we lose a little. Like the Humane Soc. - first they want to outlaw trapping and next it will be hunting etc. etc.
That is great to hear I raised exotic birds (game birds) most og my rare birds were what we call F1 they are the only ones that can be sold to the zoo. Wr used to do allot of business with the San Diego Zoo. We had PETA try and go threw our state Gov and try to get laws were we could not have birds in pens. But by being a member of PETA (keep friends close enemy's closer) we were sent a email out 2 months before they were to get started I rounded up all the bird farms and it never even got support to get going
