I have a doe that sounds like she has been smoking for 20 years no other signs of anything just a cough Eats/drinks good feeding a mix feed and chaffhaye no drainage from nose/mouth eyes look good and she looks to be in perfect health any ideas ? Thanks

She would get a good worming at my place. Lungworms could be the cause of the cough. I would likely give her a shot of antibiotic just to be on the safe side.

I have done wormed with ivermec plus and then again with safe guard pellets what would you recommend for anti. that can be put in water or darted

I like to shoot Draxin. It works good for me when darting. Has her cough gotten worse since you wormed her? It may take a few days to clear up IF that was the problem. Wish you the best of luck with her.

started about 2 months ago but no it has not gotten any worse or better now I am just trying to figure out what else to do have had a doe that has always had a cough but not like this her cough is more of a tickle in her throat where as this one you can hear her from across the pen will try the draxxin and hit again with wormer wormed her 45 days ago then again 10 days after for 7 days with pellets on the feed

Zuprevo is nothing short of a miracle antibiotic for deer! I've been using since July and have saved animals that should be dead right now from pneumonia all winter from a 3 year old buck who was to the point of almost falling down, staggering and gasping for air to fawns with bloody frozen drool and pumping stomachs. Its residual is 28 days in the system, but probably not for deer with their high metabolism (14 days for Draxxin) and it hits the lungs within 45 minutes. I've never saved such down and out deer before Zuprevo and its been with one strong single dose. Wouldn't be without it right now. All treated and saved have been run thru the working facility and given a very strong dose, but Zuprevo is very dartable since it is extremely watery.

1cc per 100lbs is my understanding. Anyone else doing different?

I agree with Charlie on the aureomycin, but sometimes if you get a chronic pneumonia infection you need to hit them with a longer acting bactericidal/static antibiotic to knock the bug out of them.

Thanks Ryan... I don't have zupervo yet, and i didn't look up the prescribing information for dosage recommendations.

I have a 6yr old doe that does the same thing. She has been doing it for a couple years now. When she first started doing it I freaked out and started pumping her full of meds, to no avail. I dunno what it is but she just coughs every once in a while. Its worse when she gets worked up too. Overall she is in good health, eats drinks and potties like the rest of them???

What is the cost comparison to Draxxin?
