Hello everyone, I'm new to these forums and trying to do my research on trying to start a deer farm here in new mexico. Game and fish said only mule deers are legal to breed here so no white tails they also will not help me by giving me some contatcs to other deer farmers so I can get some information. I was wondering if anyone has contacts with some people in new mexico that would be able to help me in starting this long process.

Thank you for any help you can give.

There was a fella on here not so long ago that was thinking on starting with deer down in that part of the world!! I will see if i can find his info for you. Found it and sent you a private message

I have been working on finding info on other states, so have found where to look.

Anyway this is the link to start, did not see where whitetails weren't allow but it should tell you, http://www.wildlife.state.nm.us/apps_permit/index.htm When you get there look at the area down left side where it says Importation. Open those files. I did not look at everything but seemed to be where I would have started. ALex

Thanks Alex, yeah i read it now and they state. "white tail deer must have originated and must exist west of the 100th meridian"
