Monday was 200 days for me. I only AI'd four does of which three showed no backup activity. All have milk bags hanging visibly from the rear to some degree or another. I'm freakin out here! Come on girls drop em!!! I guess they baking them longer this year for some reason. When should I REALLY GET WORRIED?

When you hit the day you showed the backup to the girls...Then Sweat!
 
204 has been bout tops for me. But I've been told by some 214 days and they DNA'd to A/I so I hope you don't have to wait that long!!! Been there done that and it........STINKS!! lol

Longest gestation recorded in a whitetail was over 220. This is of course the extreme.
 
Some years back I had one go 214 or 215. DNA was done and it confirmed it was from AI. Funny all of the girls would be holding them this long though.
 
I talked to another farmer today whose farm is pretty close,said he's hearing of similar farms going longer this year. It has been extremely nice weather thus far this year temp wise. Very unusual we have a definite season of SPRING here in north Louisiana , but we are this year. I think may be why the abnormal delay however we both agreed that 208 is got to be max days . Anything past that and ill be sick at my stomach lol!!!!!! Thanks guys for those high numbers:p ill keep everyone posted when they domino. I wouldn't be as concerned otherwise accept the two straws I used were pretty much unreplaceable......LITERALLY!!!!:eek:
 
Were the straws you used of good quality? Did they check out good under the microscope? Were your deer under any other stress like tb testing before you AIed? I know how your feeling and it stinks....ihope they all start dropping like crazy for you!!!
 
Semen was some of the best ive seen Dennis . The does may have been too calm as I had to get in the last box before the handler and put them in it! These does have stuck every year for the last three years. As far as synchronization, one doe we were planning on AI jumped through the handler and we left her out. As soon as I put her in with the backup, literally 45 seconds .....she stood......he bred!!!! How's that for HOT? What about the moon there Chaser?

Jason we do this ALL the time on Live covers and it WORKS slick!! Don't ya think?? LOl:)
 
Today, DNA solutions came back with a check that I thought was back up buck, as it turned out she was AI at 207 days. A nice Corbin Doe. I have never gone over 205 in all the years of breeding.

Wayne the doe's wont have the opportunity next time. I fixed the problem! It wasn't funny at the time but that's life.



Black bayou - it's day 204 and my girls look bigger than all the herd! I've had five doe's fawn out already and they weren't near this size.



Alex- that's comforting to know. I'm expecting it anytime but DNA will be sent off early for peace of mind!

It's funny you say this because I've had a pile of girls fawn out this week!:rolleyes:
