last year I had some issues with loose stool and diarrhea.  All went away with fawn paste, pumpkin and antibiotics.

I thought I would try something different this year.  I have been adding 1 spoonful of pumpkin per one cup of powdered milk.  My fawns have had the best stool they have ever had.

Yes it works great.  We have done that for years. Along with yogurt. Sounds strange but we were told years ago to feed colostrum to the fawns their whole time on the bottle. It coats their stomach. Has worked for this farm!

I have tried colostrum SUPPLEMENTS and did not have the result I am with a spoon of pumpkin.  Most colostrum products are SUPPLEMENTS but I did find one colostrum REPLACER.  Of course I let them eat until they are full and a lot of people restrict what they eat.  My thought is they are going to eat what they want while they are on the doe so why should I restrict what they eat?

I am in no way an expert. I looked around and compared all the supplements and goats milk. I read on here about river city and how good it was so I called and got his info. Same ingredients and almost exact ratios. This will be my third year of using it and never had bloat, scours or any other bottle feeding issues. Plus!!!!! It mixes perfect no clumps. I have used other replacers too due to buying fawns that were already started on them. It is also cheaper.

don't think it was my milk, think I had a little BUG . One fawn had it then the rest of the ones I fed had it at about 7-14 days, but it would seem like all of them would stay a little soft at some point in time before that.

I haven't bottle fed in the last 2 seasons, but the 3yrs before that I was mixing Revive probiotics to the milk. We called it chocolate milk. This was used with Red Cap and Superior and Sav a Lamb. If I decide to bottle feed again, I will defiantly be using Revive in the milk. These fawns were dropping pellets till weaned, no health problems.

Jerrilee, what kinda replacer are you using with the pumpkin. Mine always bloated when fed to much replacer milk. That's why I switched to red cap years ago can feed all they want. Like to see my fawns with a full belly not still hungry when done feeding. If I could do this with replacer would be great for my Amish friends who feed some fawns for me but have no fridge.

I only used pumpkin when needed before till runs went away. Natural cheap and works great. Many criticized me for it in past. Glad to see some with more common sense on forums now.

So you feed all they want with the pumpkin without any bloating or upset stomach. If this is the case might have to try it.

Who carries zoologic. Were can get some to try. Red cap works great for me but some Amish friends have hard time keeping it. Tired of making trips. This may solve my problems thanks.

Thanks for the kind words Anthony! We are pleased with the results River City Plus has been producing

Len, can you feed them as much as they want without getting bloat or sick. I found most of the replacers cannot be fed like this. I like my fawns tone satisfied and full.

Thanks for the feedback. Personally I use and love red cap but this will be a good alternative. again thank you all very much.

We've tried a few different powdered milk replacers and had our best results the past few years with pasteurized whole milk from a farmer near us that has Jersey cows. We've had no scours,  the fawns have good formed poop in just a few days, and don't seem to overeat and we've not had any problems with bloat. Even had bottlefeds that have produced a fawn the following spring as a yearling.

We used River City Plus last year. Didn't have any problems. Did not feed all they wanted, and would use it again. 1 bag will feed 2 fawns 'till weaned.

We also used Shock Effect Liquid Dispersible in the bottles.
