The USDA 2013 program for scrapies sample requirements are as follows:
2. Additional Sampling Requirements to Maintain Select Status:
a) Number of Samples.
(1) Select flocks with more than 100 mature animals must submit suitable tissues for scrapie testing from at least 1 test eligible animal every year.
(2) Select flocks with 26-100 mature animals must submit suitable tissues for scrapie testing from at least 1 test eligible animal every 2 years.
(3) Select flocks with 25 or less mature animals must submit suitable tissues for scrapie testing from at least 1 test elibible animal every 3 years.
b. The additional sampling requirements will be waived for any flock from which 10 or more animals have been tested through regulator scrapie slaughter surveillance during the collection period.
And IOWA reports 77 scrapie positive flocks since 2001. WOW, now that's education.
The transcripts from our case will be available to all of you in two weeks. You will read the truth on how the state of Iowa is clinging to the CWD Standards document and the truth about the Brakke's NOT receiving a lucrative offer from the State of Iowa. You will be able to read expert testimony under oath about the impacts of CWD for producers and the wild.
I hope you take the time to read it.
