The USDA 2013 program for scrapies sample requirements are as follows:

2. Additional Sampling Requirements to Maintain Select Status:

a) Number of Samples.

(1) Select flocks with more than 100 mature animals must submit suitable tissues for scrapie testing from at least 1 test eligible animal every year.

(2) Select flocks with 26-100 mature animals must submit suitable tissues for scrapie testing from at least 1 test eligible animal every 2 years.

(3) Select flocks with 25 or less mature animals must submit suitable tissues for scrapie testing from at least 1 test elibible animal every 3 years.

b. The additional sampling requirements will be waived for any flock from which 10 or more animals have been tested through regulator scrapie slaughter surveillance during the collection period.

And IOWA reports 77 scrapie positive flocks since 2001. WOW, now that's education.

The transcripts from our case will be available to all of you in two weeks. You will read the truth on how the state of Iowa is clinging to the CWD Standards document and the truth about the Brakke's NOT receiving a lucrative offer from the State of Iowa. You will be able to read expert testimony under oath about the impacts of CWD for producers and the wild.

I hope you take the time to read it.

The flock has a potential exposure to scrapie:

A. If a scrapie-positive animal was commingled, other than limited contacts, with the flock and the flock does not meet the definition of an infected or source flock, the flock's status date will be reduced to the date on which the positive animal left the flock, died, or the commingling ceased.

NO quarantine, no depopulation ...... Wow what are we doing in this industry.

Relocation to a new premises (permanent or temporary) or addition of a new premises ( purchased or leased) that has housed an infected or source flock within the past 5 years will result in a change of status and/or status date to the date of the move.

No quarantine ....... In the standards, If our animals even touch CWD positive ground or commingle, we are out of business and quarantined for five years.

Rhonda...glad to hear things are going well in your fight for the industry and private property rights.

Whoever is spreading the false information about you and Tom turning down a lucritive offer from the state of Iowa for your diseased herd needs to stop spreading the lies and false information. I have heard this statement from more than a few individuals and nothing could be further from the truth....the transcripts will tell the truth and the person who is spreading the false information will be made out to be the liar in all of this.
