I have read many heartwarming stories on this forum of deer farmers who have helped to make terminally ill children's wishes of a deer hunt come true. This story is a little bit different. A close friend of mine was telling me about a woman she knew who was in end stage cancer. This woman's wish was to see a deer up close. I wintered over a few fawns this year that had come in late in the season and they were okay with people but not overly friendly. I think the picture explains it better then my words as to how the deer reacted to her. She passed away this morning after telling my friend that the fawns were waiting for her and it was time for her to go home.

That picture is absolutely awesome. I had a similar experience of taking a gentleman on his final hunt last fall, just eight days before he passed away from cancer. I posted a link to his story on another thread, but here it is, again www.playbyfaith.com/outdoors.aspx. Just click on the link and then click on the video to watch. We were able to get the mount to him 8 days after he shot it . . . and he went to heaven that night! The doctors believe he was holding on until the mount got back to him! What a truly amazing God we have that allows such blessing in the midst of pain. Thanks for sharing your story!

It is circumstances like these that make you know your rehab efforts worth it. Liz, I bet there wasn't a dry eye at your house when the woman visited. I guess God knew you were to need the fawns through the winter, considering the issues that caused them to remain behind after your regular releases. I agree with Robbie.....WOW!

What a great story ,and picture. There are no words to explain how happenings like this makes us feel! God Bless You Liz. Allen

It`s your love and caring Liz that started your desire to save God`s creations !! This story Liz has shown how you brought all God`s creatures together for their release !! Thank you for sharing her wish and thank you for being able to give it to her !!! Ditto the WOW !!
