Well this is the same fawn with the bad looking eye. After almost two weeks of treating and doing everything I can for him his eye looks the same. I found him tonight layin on his side almost dead from dehydration. The patch seemed to not help at all other than hurtin his skin. I pulled him tonight and gave him ringers under the skin and electrolytes down the throat. I also gave him all the other antibiotics that I have been given him throughout the last two weeks. He is unable to stand or really lift his head. I was just wanting some input.

Thanks Nate

With all due respect Mr. Hippen, your vet sucks. There are so many good guys out there. Dr. McFarland in Western IL is one of them. Also, I believe that removing an infected eye from a fawn is like doing it in any other mammal that is in severe pain. To allow a living thing to suffer in pain is unthinkable to a plain, ol' person like me. I am all for Tramadol and even tested it on myself before giving it to my poodle who was undergoing chemotherapy for mammary cancer. Tramadol incidentally, is given to women undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Don't know how ruminants absorb it, but I am all for ridding the pain while treating the illness. Better luck next time, and yet again, Dr. Joe, thank you for your unselfish gift of your professional time.
