Yearling buck had swollen left nostril two weeks ago. Thought it was a bee sting. gave him 2cc of draxxin was gone in two days. Two days later it was back and MORE SEVERE! Both nostrils and swelling seems to be spreading towards his eye on the right side. Infection....Allergy????????? Gave him 4cc of Nuflor but not much affect. He is eating and drinking. Always licking and No Direct sunlight and It is Pretty Raw. Could use some help from my fellow deer farmers on this one.

Steve my guess would be this deer has some nasty nasal infection. You can see the swelling around the eyes even. Cause ?????? Bot fly ????? check the inside of his mouth and see if there is a cut or abcesses of any sort. I would be hitting with Tetradure and penicillian . Just my way of responding to issues i`m unsure of.

we had a doe last summer right after fawning get bit by ????? likely a spider. Her whole head swelled up. We knocked her out and put her in the barn for over a week. She had a hole blow out above the corner of her mouth. when it was all said and done the corner of her mouth ended up being and inch and a half higher because all the tissue died off. She is doing well today but she lost a lot of weight during that whole ordeal. Luckily someone else took care of her fawn while she was up being treated.

Moral of the story is you just never know. It may be best to knock him out to inspect the situation.
