Ok y'all need your help once again. I have a fawn with watery poop. She is 2 weeks and 2I days old. She is eating the same but lays around a little more. What can I give and how much?? Any other advice is helpful!

I always hit mine with deliver and probotics at the first sign of trouble. The deliver is a calf scour control that has a gelling agent in it. I get mine at a local feed store but i know tractor supply carries another brand of the same stuff. I use one teaspoon per bottle and feed it fast because if you wait they wont get the milk out the nipple. First thing i want to do is get them away from the watery poop and then you can figure out if you another problem!!

It might be coccidia which is treated well with Albon (in fawns). I would try to get a fecal test done, or get some Albon and administer in her bottle asap. She can dehydrate and go downhill very fast. Just be careful, sorry, don't mean to sound too negative. Best of luck to you.

Ya I figure school doesn't stop at 12th grade. some people might be surprised how much will still fit up there.

I appreciate some of the advice, as for the other I hope one day when ur in need of help someone is there to help u as much as u have me!

Mikes right................You have to try and contain the fire ....................While you are getting your Microscope out! And you have to have everything you can on hand, Because what works on one Farm or even one Fawn...................May NOT work the next time!.....................BEST OF LUCK and keep us posted!

Like Mike said get some deliver to stop the water loss. I have had good luck with treating with neomycin oral solution which is for most stomuck problems caused by bacteria. Then a good probitic.. As the care giver you have to guess your best guess because if you wait till you get a report what it is and how to treat it more than likely it will be gone. I would send in samples for a good drug to use for your problem as it will move into other fawns. This product was what the lab said would work on my problem last year. Don't forget the pumkin in the milk for more fiber. Just my opinion.

I was thanking mike, and I did start trying to get it under control as soon as I seen what was going on. I always like to know what everyone does in these situations bc I like to refer back if what I'm doing is not working for a "certain" fawn. She is doing great now! Thank you for asking

Also we don't have a Vet. around our area that is very familiar with deer so I rely on the forums alot for advice.

Could you share with us please, what you used on your fawn? So that I can learn from your experience? thanks. Goat milk and pumpkin really helped my fawn when she was "loose", but she never had watery diarrhea. I've read that in most cases it is a bacterial cause. If she poops it out, it will be in the soil and can spread to the others. You will want to disinfect the pen really well. Best of luck to you.
