Hey fellow farmers, WV needs some help with calls to Governer Tomblin's office, for support of Senate Bill 237 (Captive Cervid Farming Act) No matter what state you are from. We have been stifled for so long, this would be a Great opportunity for us all. The number is 304-558-2000.  Please make the call and voice your support. The Bill has been overwhelmingly passed in the House and Senate and is is awaiting Gov. Tomblin's signature.  Thanks so much, Allen

Allen,  Can an email work?  If so what is it?  I think a flood of emails would do more.  There is only so many calls they can take.  let us know.

I sent this:

Thank you for considering this act.
I serve on an advisory committee to our states Board of Animal Health.  I have been farming livestock for over 40 years.
I highly recommend the transfer to the Dept. of Ag. for deer farmers.  We have been under the Board of Animal Health, Dept. of Ag. since 2004.  It works well and the health status of our deer herds are second to none in the U.S.  It makes sense for animals to be under BAH since they are comprised mostly of Veterinarians.  It's simple, if your dog gets sick, or needs medical attention, you take it to the Veterinarian, not the game warden.

I tried to keep it short and polite.

I just want to thank all of those that have called or emailed Gov. Tomblin's office to offer support for Senate Bill 237 ( WV Captive Cervid Farming Act) which would place Cervid Farming in WV. under Agriculture. We have Monday and Tuesday to get the Bill signed. So I ask again for as many of my fellow farmers and friends to call, or email in support of the Bill. http://www.governor....heGovernor.aspx is the link to email and the Ph# is 304-558-2000. Thanks again, Allen

Let's do it guys, let's help our good friends in West Virginia. I called and emailed, it takes 30 seconds or less, I know we get busy but 30 seconds of your time can give this state a huge amount of freedom to move deer! So if you haven't called or emailed yet, consider doing it right now! Allen, keep us updated.

E-mail sent good luck guys. Hope you have a Governor that sees the facts and makes his decision based on that. From Missouri so you know what im talking about.

Allen,

I have e-mailed your Governor.  Hope it helps.

Allen called me earlier today. He told me there was an article in one of the newspapers this morning, urging the public to write in to have this bill veto'd. I forget the name of the paper the article was in. But if we can keep the calls coming, and out weigh the negative calls, this bill can pass. As long as there is no veto by the end of today, it should pass, from what I understand. So get your last minute calls in. West Virginia is close to a big victory, I hope you guys get it.

Thanks every one for the support.I have been on the run all morning and just got to the computer. I just recieved an email stating that Gov. Tomblin will act on the bill tomorrow. (Wednesday) So please send more calls and emails for support of Senate Bill 237. This has been 18 years in the making and we are so close.
