I have several new fawns born this week.  Was thinking of bottle feeding a couple and wanted to get some advice from you folks.  I know it is a large commitment, but think it is worth it to have tame animals in the herd.  The main question I have is when should you pull the fawns from the doe?  I have 2 sets of triplets, one born last Saturday and the other born today.  Would the ones born last Saturday be too old to start on bottles now?  I appreciate any information you folks could have for me.  Thanks again!!!

We typically pull at 3-4 days. We have pulled as early as the following day after birth and as late as a week and 1/2 depending on how the mother is tending them. And for the last 5 years or so we have used regular red cap milk no matter how old when we pull them. It has worked well for us. We also seldom leave trips on the doe we usually pull one.

Sadly we have yet to have to worry about trips this year so far so congrats on the trips. We have had 15 fawns thus far 4 sets of twins and the rest singles all have been AI. We did two groups this year 22 lap AI and 12 ******l about two weeks apart. 10 of 22 thus far Lap and 1 of 12 so far ******l.
