Out of curiosity, I'm trying to get a visual cross section of where most deer farmers fit in comparison to the rest of the industry when it comes to where their deer go when they are sold. What I'm interested in, is what percentage of your deer go to a preserve/slaughter vs another farm for breeding purposes.

On a side note, if you take the economy out of the picture, how many extra shooters are there this year? How about next year and the year after that?? I figure its hard to make things better if you don't know what kind of numbers you are dealing with. Thanks in advance Wade

Are we talking about does or bucks or both. Buck go to preserves, does go to others or eaten.

Matt, I guess I was thinking both bucks and does. To be more specific about which category an individual deer fits into, I would say if its not going to be bred, it goes into the shooter side. Pets, I consider off the market and for the purpose of this poll, I would put them in the preserve/slaughter side.

Billiejo, if you don't mind me asking, how many pet homes do you find a year? Is it mainly because they are the pied and whites? How popular are the pied and white bucks with preserves?
