white tail deer sick

Dear All ,


i would like your help with a white,tail,deer , it is a one week old female and very weak we discovered that she wasn't feeding well on the bottle , so we change it to a bowl.

in the meantime she is very weak wouldn't drink any milk only a little , also she has a Diarrhea.

i want to know what to do maybe im missing something i only give her a milk in the mean time should i add vitamins.


Im overseas so there knowledge with the deer are extremely poor.

You probably are using a human nipple by the sound of it. They work for crap on deer.
A prichard nipple cut off at the tip a little would give you the length to make her suck. Cow milk will work well. You can get bottles and nipples at [url=http://www.premier1supplies.com in the States. You can get the bottles there also.
As far as the diarrhea start by putting in pumpkin the kind you use to make pies with but don't get one that has spice in it and mix a teaspoon of that in the milk. We strain the mix before we put it in a bottle so the bigger pieces of pie don't plug the nipple
If she continues to have diarrhea Baytril 100 in the bottle would work. I mix 1/2cc to a 16 oz bottle. Baytril is a great gut antibiotic.
You might have to tube the milk in to keep her alive. You can get that also at that site. Plus they have a video on how to do that tubing. You might be able to find these things at a sheep supply house there. Good luck.

thank god we found Veterinary , and he give the deer an antibiotic.

and he suggest to change the milk and after we change the milk she started to drink smoothly.
