Hey everyone! I am brand new to having a fawn. I’ve raised a plethora of animals but never a deer. I have a 4 week old doe fawn. Up until 2.5 days ago, she was a perfectly healthy little fawn. Then all of sudden she bloated up and started grinding her teeth. I was giving her her strictly kid milk replacer (mannapro) until 10 days ago, the switch to a 50/50 mix of her manna pro and a universal milk replaced until it is finished. Then going 100% on the universal replacer. Five days ago, we started to keep her outside in the pen during the day, bringing her in at night. She has access to water and grass in the pen. The first day of bloat-she would not touch her bottle, but would drink water. The last 1.5 days she will drink 2 or 3 oz out of her bottle. (Before she would drink 4-6 oz, 5 times a day.)
I have read through so much information, my brain is spinning. I just want to have someone with experience to help me out. I read to give her an antacid, and that seemed to stopped the pain (teeth grinding). She has pooped and yes, I stimulate her for that. She pees, quite a lot. And she drinks sooo much water the past few days. I can hear liquid slosh around in her little belly when she’s walking. What do I do?!?!
