We are preparing for our 2013 Whitetails of Louisiana annual convention. This year our convention will be April 26-27 at the SAIA Convention Center, 2301 North MacArthur Drive, Alexandria, La, Ph 318-619-3300. The host hotel is the Baymont Inn and Suites next door to the convention hall, Ph 318-619-3300. Reservations need to be made at least two weeks prior to the convention to get our discount. Tell them you are in the Whitetails of Louisiana block for the discount.
Our annual benefit auction at our convention is our primary fundraiser for the entire year. Please consider donating items to our auction.. We could use several items unrelated to Whitetail breeding or hunting. Any items, hunts, fishing trips, semen, live deer, jewelry, furniture, feed, fence, or any other items you can think of are appreciated. Have your auction items to us no later than April 5. We also will include our consignment auction again this year. We tried this last year and had about 30 lots in our consignment auction. We had good success. Our association gets 100% of the benefit auction items and 10% of the consignment auction lots. Pick out some good animals to put in our consignment auction. There should be plenty of buyers there so represent your farm well.
We have space for about 50 booths which will be $150 each. You may also advertise in our auction catalog which will be sent to all our members. It will be full color 8.5” x 11”. Full page ads are $200 and half page are $100. We need the ads no later than April 5 also.
Please plan on attending our convention. Bring a potential deer farmer with you. There will be a couple seminars help Saturday morning and our auction will begin at noon. As always we will have our Friday night meal at Tunks where everyone enjoys all you can eat Cajun seafood including crawfish, alligator, shrimp, crabs, and most any other seafood you can imagine. We will have a good time there for sure!
