As the GOP debates and primaries move from New Hampshire to South Carolina, who are you rooting for? Everyone so far has thought that Romney is more "electable" but I think that Newt has a real shot in South Carolina, and if I was there, I would be voting for him. Anyone else have any thoughts?

I like newt but he carries too much baggage unfortunately...........Mitt will be the man.....just as long as they can beat the moron in office that's all I care!!!

Dennis, I agree-I'd vote myself in if I thought it was the only way to stop Obama. I just think Newt would be better at taking on Obama in October on a head-to-head debate. Newt is extremely smooth and practical with no teleprompter needed. I really don't care about the baggage-who doesn't have some skeletons? I don't like the way Romney dances around questions about his past business experiences and policies when minutes before he bragged about how clean his business performance has been.

Phillip I agree a hundred and one percent.....who does not have some skeletons.......newt would be the better candidate but for some reason most don't feel the same!!

I still am very worried that nobody can beat Oblah blah in the popular vote. Think of all the newly-appointed federal jobs....they'll vote for him. Many (not all, don't be offended) taking in unemployment will vote for him in hopes that extensions will be passed after the election. How about same-*** marriage advocates? Voting for him. Anyone pro-choice? Have to vote for him. That makesa a HUGE number of people. And if he can get illegals who are tied to our country because they have blood relatives living here some voting rights, he's in, no matter who he is running against. Very scary...

I'm still too thick-headed to understand exactly how the electorate process works, but very worried about the popular vote, no matter who is in it.

I've always said I would run for president and instead of having a "first dog" as a pet, I would just bring my deer herd to the Rose garden! Now THAT would be cool...

I don't know from experience, but my gut says the deer would eat the roses down to the thorns...

I'm not sure how the popular vote will work out, but I think the GOP is positioned to turn the electoral votes around this time. There are a few states that went narrowly to Obama in '08 that should swing the other way this time (NC, IN, OH, VA and FL likely); grab a couple others (NM, CO, WI, NH or PA!) and there you have it. If we want to see what Obama would get us in the long term, just look at that crazy state on the left coast with the most electoral votes! Most of the candidates will put up a better showing than McCain (and Palin is not on the ticket), people now know who Obama is as a president (and don't like it), and we are four years removed from "Bush hangover syndrome". I think Romney, Gingrich and Huntsman are the ones who have the best chance in the fall.

I saw a cartoon the other day, a man with a clipboard was talking to a couple. His question was which candidate would best unify the republican party this fall and the answer was Obama. I could support almost any of the republicans in the race - maybe not Ron Paul. Was disappointed though we couldn't get a Chris Christie to run or Marco Rubio, Allen West or Paul Ryan. All folks that I think would excite the Republican base. Will be interesting to see who the VP candidate is.

Rick Santorum! Santorum is the only true CONSERVATIVE left in the race with a chance to win. Gingrich’s multiple marriages and joint projects with Nancy Pelosi will hurt him, along with his sometimes explosive temper.

As far as Romney is concerned, he is a moderate and the left’s choice to run against Obama, although they don’t want to let that be known yet. I say this because while Romney was the Gov. of Massachusetts, he implemented a statewide healthcare plan in which Obama claimed to use as a template for Obama Care. Romney has stated he would repeal Obama Care, which I believe, but I think he would get beat up too badly by Obama in the general election because of Romney Care. The Democrats may also criticize his actions while CEO of Bain Capital as well. I like him, but I just think he’s too moderate for our Country at this point in history.

Santorum did well in Iowa and I expect him to do well in S. Carolina and hopefully Florida. I believe he will gain popularity as people in other states get more familiar with his policies. If you are not familiar with him, give him some consideration, he’s pro gun, pro life, etc, and has already has a proven voting record.

I’d vote for any candidate running against Obama.

Now that I chimed in on a very controversial topic, we might as well get the rest of them out of the way. How much do you earn, how old is your wife, and how much does she weigh, lol?

I think there is a good chance that Palin is the reason Obama is in office to start with. I understand why the GOP wanted to run with her as VP on the ticket; woman, family-oriented, had a daughter with a baby (easy to relate to), proof of pro-life with her own Down's Syndrome child...but let's face it, she knew nothing about politics outside the city limits she where she was originally the mayor. How she got to be governor, I have no idea. This isn't a sexist statement, only that she was not qualified because she didn't have any experience beyond where her career had taken her. I think she proved that before and since the election with her half-witt statements and wobbly debates. Surely the GOP has noted their error in pairing her with McCain.

Sarah would be a better president that either McCain or Obama and as far as experience she had more than Obama did:confused: Granted, she would have needed to surround herself with a knowledgable and experienced staff but then again she would have been intelligent enough to do that. Look who Osama surrounded himself with!!! Furthermore, Sarah is NOT the reason Osama got elected. He was going to win no matter who the republican was.

As for the current GOP canidates, Newt would be the best president hands down. Santorum would also be a very good one. After that we have Huntsman who doesnt have a chance and Paul who is a complete ***** on foreign policy. That only leaves the front-runner Romney who I will have to force myself to go vote for. He is better than Osama by a long shot and better than Paul by a good bit but is not what we need at all. We need HUGE fundamental change and the only one with the guts to jump in with both feet on day 1 and start doing it is Newt. Santorum will also be a good president but will trudge along at a slower pace. I am all for a Newt-Santorum ticket!!!:)

Donald will be back after his show,in the spring.he is for our country not for himself. Trump Palin ticket. I can't wait for anybody to debate you know who.

Sarah has done more for Alaskan people than any other governor has done for their state.
