Jeff, I just bought a Remington nitro piston air rifle. It was tested at 66 decibels compared to the Gamo Whisper which was tested at 77 decibels. Both of them are very accurate. I would imagine a Whisper with a nitro piston would really be a good combo.
if you use them right.....they never hear it
if your gun is shooting under 500 fps it would be much quieter, any guns up around 1000 fps are out of the subsonic range and will have the "crack" we associate with bullets it bepends on you situation and use , if your under 30 yards there are some good subsonic guns, also good ammo can make a good gun fantastic
