Will a doe "adopt" an unrelated fawn?

Hi there, I am new to fawn raising and have some questions for all you pro's here :)

For starters I will tell you a little about our experience... We live in a very rural area where we are surrounded by farm land and our nearest neighbor is a mile away.  About 6 weeks ago we had a baby fawn come walking up into our yard. She was bleeting at us and following us around. We left her be, knowing that we have several deer that live in our grove, assuming her mom would come back to retrieve her. She continued to follow us around bleeting as loud as her weak little lungs could for a day or so. So after calling the DNR and them telling us to leave her alone I couldn't bear to watch her starve anymore. I researched as much as possible, got her to take a bottle and she has been eating well ever since. We have kept minimal interaction with her, comes up to the house 3 times a day to be fed then goes to bed down in the pasture somewhere. We do not have her contained.

My question is... Lately we have gone out to feed her and she is nowhere to be found. Sometimes disappearing for 24 hours. Then she will be there the next morning waiting on her bottle. We know for sure we have at least one doe/fawn pair that live in our grove and we see them often. Is it possible that she is interacting with them? Will an adult doe accept an unrelated fawn "hanging around"?

My 2nd question is about scours. She is approximately 6 weeks old and for about a week now she has been having runny stools. I feed 9 oz per feeding of red cap milk, add a tsp of pumpkin and some baby gas drops. And I also give her about 5 oz of Bounce Back electrolyte supplement in a bottle. Everytime I have seen her poop it has been runny (no blood) and she also has this clear mucus poop. Anything else I can do for her? She seams to be a little on the thin side since her runs have started.

We have some does that will take care of every fawn in the pen and others that wont have anything to do with any other fawn i would think a wild doe would do the same. Worming her might help with the runs and being a little skinny just some thoughts hope it helps

Thanks so much for your thoughts! It's good to hear that you have seen deer who will do this, that's reassuring.  We will be putting up our trail cams a little early to see if we can catch any proof of this actually happening. I have some Strongid wormer that I use for the dogs I would think the same dosage would be effective to give her?

I am not sure on that wormer as i have not used it maybe one of the more knowledgeable will pitch in their thoughts we use ivermec pour on for cattle we use 3cc on the backs of our fawns it has worked for us not saying it will work for everyone just what we use
